Associated Bank
Personal Small Business Commercial Why Associated

In most cases, our customers deposit funds several days before making withdrawals or writing checks to their account, to be sure they have available funds. In fact, it is always a good practice to wait one extra day before writing checks, going to the ATM or using your check card, unless you already have funds available in your account. That's because it is Associated Bank's policy to make funds from deposits available on the first business day after the day the deposit is made. Deposits of cash, checks drawn on Associated Bank, and electronic deposits (including direct deposits), however, are available the same business day they are deposited. In some cases, depending upon the type of check deposited, longer delays may apply. Funds you deposit by check may be delayed for a longer period under certain circumstances. Please refer to the “Funds Availability Policy Disclosure” within the Deposit Account Information booklet for more information and a full description of Associated Bank’s funds availability policy.

This policy applies to all checking, savings and money market accounts.

In summary:

Funds from checks drawn on other banks that are deposited into checking, savings and money market accounts, whether in person, mail or by ATM, will be available on the first business day after the day the deposit was received.
